About the Department:

            Radio diagnosis is the well known field of medicine which evolved after the discovery of X-Rays in 1895. Department of Radio diagnosis was started in Government Villupuram Medical College & Hospitals as a super-specialty department to help the rural population for the early diagnosis and treatment from March 2010.

MRI SCAN                  : 1 unit
 
 
SERVICE PROVIDED PER ANNUM:
 
XRAY                             :10,000 to 11,000 MLC / 40,000 to 42,000 NON MLC x-rays are taken .Age estimation by radiological examination for MLC cases 350 to 360 cases per year
 
USG                               :42,000 TO 43000 USG cases including non vascular intervention .
CT SCAN                      : 12,000-15,000 cases including contrast
MRI SCAN                    : 600-700 cases including contrast
 
 
Department of Radio diagnosis helps in implementing Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme.
