Short History of the Department

     Department of Otorhinolaryngology  started to function in Government Villupuram Medical College, Villupuram since its inception on 1st    August 2010 . We perform Nasal Endoscopy, Video Otoscopy and video  laryngoscopy  daily to out patients.  Minor ENT procedures, Foreign  body removal, Emergency Tracheostomy,Audiological evaluation and speech therapy are done daily in the O.P.D. Two Additional special Clinics like   vertigo clinic , Allergy clinic  and Headache clinic are conducted  daily  with average attendance of about 10-15 patients / day.  ENT ward has been set up with an In patient capacity of 15 Beds for Males and Females and Children separately.  Major ENT Surgeries are done twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Minor ENT Surgeries are done daily in our ENT OT.  Academic activity   for under Graduate Students posted in batches are conducted by our Professor and Assistant Professor  daily as per Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R University Schedule and Guidelines.
