Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

The Department of Orthopaedic  Surgery was started in March 2010 with requisite faculty and infrastructure  .

Initially  two separate  wards were started for male and female Patients. Operation theatre for elective cases was started

in July 2010 with 2 high quality image intensifiers and  C arm Compatible Operation tables.

Surgeries under Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme has been started in February-2012 and 460  surgeries  have been performed till January 2015.

Fracture fixation:
- Inter Locking Nailing for long bone fractures
- Plate osteosynthesis
- External fixation for open fractures
Hip arthroplasty, knee arthroplasty
Deformity corrections
  • Cubitus-varus, Genuvalgum, clubfoot
Soft tissue surgeries-  tendon repair, tendon lengthening and Bursa Excision.
Special Clinics
: Club foot clinic  every Wednesday

Regular Clinical classes are conducted for MBBS students.

CME’s conducted 1. Slipped capital femoral Epiphysis April-   2013.
